About Me

Welcome to Yoga and Pilates with Carol in Selby North Yorkshire

I teach Yoga and Pilates for all, from beginners to experienced clients. I care passionately about teaching and caring for my clients. It is far more than a career or job to me but a calling. I enjoy tutoring my clients helping them improve both physically and in many cases emotionally.
I have found that sharing my love of the art of Yoga and its varied forms is my main motivator.
My classes are filled with words of encouragement, love and enthusiasm.
You will learn to "let go" and open doors to a world of achievement and inner peace.


My Life


Off the mat I love to read books, I love being outside in nature walking is a major pastime . I am passionate about nature and protecting it. I love all animals although birds hold a special place in my heart. I have to admit I am proud to be a tree hugger. A major oak at Beningbrough Hall nr York is a special favourite.
Time alone is very important, but spending time with family and friends is an essential part of my life


My Approach to Yoga

Yoga has taught me the importance of taking regular pauses for thought .I have discovered the benefits of stillness and being in the moment. In this busy hectic world creating a balanced life requires attention to detail and continual adjustment. Yoga has given me the ability to practice what I preach and for me
will be a lifelong passion both as teacher and student.
I believe that anyone can practice Yoga no matter physical or mental capabilities. I enjoy teaching everyone from beginners to experienced students
helping all explore their own abilities. I strongly believe that we should not judge ourseves or others. We are all so different in mind and body. each with different limitations. I specialise in modifying sessions to the needs of the group and the individual.
Many come to Yoga as a physical practice to improve fitness and flexibility, it is far more than that. An awareness of self , spirit and serenity, of peace of mind are also benefits which some feel are more important. Yoga pays attention on how we breathe and move together . Yoga is a somatic practice where moving conciously with the focus on the internal experience rather than than the external or result of the movement

Yoga and Pilates My Style

I teach Hatha Yoga and traditional Pilates

My style is caring, calm and understanding which comes naturally to me as a proud mother of 3 grown up daughters. Also in no small part to Yoga being a way of life for me.
My experience teaching all levels of ability and ages over twenty five + years is invaluable.

My classes are friendly and relaxed. Each session mixes breathwork, linbering, stretching and gentle yet strong, physical
and relaxation

I have received many kind letters thanking me for changing lives for the better. From anxiety issues to quite serious back problems.
